The Voice of Journey auditions!!

It's that time! Time for auditions to see who will be THE VOICE OF JOURNEY for Winter session. To qualify for consideration, you must be a current Journey student. Please call the office at 360.750.8550 during closed hours (4:00pm-8:00am) and leave a voice mail using your clearest and most energetic "radio voice". In your voicemail, state your name, age, which area you take class, then read the following script excerpt. Voicemails will be accepted until 8:00am Monday, Feb. 3rd.

THE VOICE OF JOURNEY – Audition Script

Welcome to Journey Theater Arts Group and our production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

What you're going to see is a show performed by students ages 8-18, like me!

We take classes through Journey to build our skills in singing, dancing, and acting. There's a wide variety of great classes to choose from and there's something for everyone!

If you're between the ages of 6-18, or if you know someone in that age range, be sure to get signed up for classes! Registration for Spring session begins February 20th and you don't want to miss out!

Letter Writing Contest

Join our Letter Writing Contest this year and write your letters at home!  Think of all the family and friends you can tell about your experience with Journey.  Then, come to class starting next week and pick up pre-printed letters you can take home and write a personal note on.   Address the envelopes we give you.  Bring it all back and we will put the stamp on it and get it in the mail!

Students whose letters bring in $25 in donations will get a Journey duffle bag.  And, for every $75 that comes in, students names will be added to our grand prize drawings!

Lots of fun, great prizes, all for a great Journey cause!

Pampered Chef Fundraiser for Journey!

Tuesday, February 4th, Pampered Chef will set up a display in the lobby of Lifepoint for parents to shop before classes, during classes and at pick up!  All proceeds go to benefit Journey.  Join us!!

Friday is Audition Day!

*Auditions for Disney's Aladdin Jr. are from 3:00 - 7:00 Friday, 1/10 at Lifepoint Church.

*You can check in anytime between 3:00 and 7:00.  Students will be given numbers as they check in and will audition in that order, in groups of ten.

*You must bring four completed forms with you to auditions:

     The Audition Form

     The Parent Committee Form

     The Costume Form

     The Medical Release Form

*Each student will have their photo taken when they check in for auditions.

*Auditions are open. You are welcome to watch!  The doors to the audition room will be open before and after each group of ten.  The doors will be closed, no one may enter or exit, while each group of ten auditions.

*Students must have a music only (no vocals) in CD or MP3 format.  Do not come with a selection that requires Internet connection to obtain as we cannot guarantee that connection.

*If you are reading this you have found our show callboard!  This is where you will find the list for callbacks late (around 10:00) on Friday night and the cast list at 5:00 on Sunday.

*Callbacks are Saturday, 1/11 between 9:00 and 1:00.  Please review the callback list carefully and note the specific time your child is called.  

*Callbacks are closed.  Parents will bring their child at the time called and pick them up at the time indicated.

First Winter Class Day This Tuesday!

Tuesday, January 7th is our first winter session class day in Vancouver East.  Here are your reminders taken from your registration link:

Please bring a signed Medical Release Form and Behavior Contract to turn for this session.  (Medical Release Form Link)

Class time is 5:00 - 7:00 and we meet at Lifepoint Church at 305 NE 192nd Avenue in Vancouver. 

On our first class day we will begin with a parent and student meeting in the Sanctuary.  This meeting lasts about 1/2 hour and we will cover class information and audition information for this session.

When students are released to their classes, parents are invited to join me at a parent reception.  We will have snacks, I will share information about the involvement of parents who have children that are cast in a Journey show and we will have time for questions and answers.

Both of these meetings with parents are extremely valuable to families new to classes or shows.
